Note: These instructions are for Microsoft® Office Outlook, not Outlook Express. Please verify that you're using the Office version of Outlook before continuing. If you're using Outlook Express, see our How-To for Outlook Express.

  1. Note: If this is your first time running Outlook, the E-mail Accounts wizard should appear automatically. In that case, skip to step 2.

Go to Tools → E-mail Accounts.

    Click Next to continue.

  4. Under Your Name and E-mail address, enter your name and E-Mail address.

Set both Incoming mail server (POP3) and Outgoing mail server (SMTP) to mail.emr.net.

Under User name, enter your complete E-Mail address. Be sure to include the @ sign and the domain; don't just enter your account name here!

Optionally, you can enter your password and check Remember password. Otherwise, you will need to enter your password every time you send or receive mail.
    Internet E-mail Settings

Note: If your ISP is Cox, you will not be able to send mail using mail.emr.net. You will need to set your outgoing mail server to smtp.west.cox.net, click Next, and skip to step 7.

    Otherwise, click More Settings.

  5. Click on the Outgoing Server tab.

Check the box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.

Make sure Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected.
